The course on Crisis & Emergency Communication designed by Deep Blue revolves around the analysis and improvement of fundamental skills for managing communication in emergency situations, to guide top managers, executives, communication departments and employees through the various stages of planning and managing communication in times of crisis, from the mapping of macro-scenarios to drafting operational procedures, with tools and methodologies to improve communication performance.

Objectives

Participants will be able to implement and develop the ability to: 

  • anticipate possible crisis scenarios and manage communication challenges, mapping relevant actors and stakeholders;
  • monitor and identify crisis scenarios in real-time, through scripts and templates for gathering information prepared before the crisis;
  • communicate proactively in times of crisis, with timeliness and confidence;
  • adapt communication according to scenarios and their evolution;
  • analyse scenarios ex-post through a set of indicators, activating any necessary additional interfaces and processes.

  • introduction to Crisis & Emergency Management and Communication;
  • the three stages of communication: before, during and after a crisis;
  • how to define possible scenarios of crises and the internal and external stakeholders;
  • how to define a Communication Plan before a Crisis, with templates and key messages ready-to-use;
  • how to coordinate the Crises Management, Crisis Communication and the Legal teams;

 

 

  • hot to communicate during a crisis with internal and external stakeholders and the media;
  • how to be a good spokesperson.

The course is completely customizable according to the client’s needs and the type of organisation. The recommended duration is 3 days.

The course can be held in English or Italian and modules can be scheduled consecutively, or as stand-alone modules on non-consecutive days.
