Course on Fatigue and Stress Management

Mitigating risk related to stress and enhancing safety in compliance with the European regulatory framework.

Course on Fatigue and Stress Management

We help organisations improve workplace culture to prioritise psychological safety, empowering individuals to reach their full potential. The Fatigue and Stress Management course aims at exploring the impact of fatigue and stress on human performance, providing strategies to identify and mitigate their adverse effects.

Promote well-being to enhance safety

Stress and fatigue are currently two of the hottest topics in transport safety research, as they have been acknowledged as key factors in several industrial incidents/accidents. Their relevance is also recognised by the European Commission, which in Regulation (ER) 2017/373 establishes the requirements to prevent and mitigate the effects of stress and fatigue on the workforce. These requirements include the development of stress management policies, strategies and interventions, including training courses on stress signals detection, support mechanisms (counselling, coaching, management of post-traumatic stress following serious incidents) and risk assessment approaches for workplace stress and fatigue sources.

Objectives

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • provide a definition of stress and fatigue;
  • list the main workplace sources of stress and fatigue;
  • identify the stress and fatigue effects on safety, efficiency, workers’ job satisfaction and well-being;
  • detect stress and fatigue signals;
  • define effective individual and team strategies to manage work-related fatigue and stress.
