As the SESAR Innovation Days 2024 draw to a close, we at Deep Blue are proud to reflect on an event that has showcased the latest advancements in European aviation and reinforced the strength of collaboration within the SESAR community. This year’s edition, hosted in the stunning setting of Rome, felt especially significant as we co-sponsored the event alongside key partners ENAV, ADR, and Leonardo.

For Michela Terenzi, Head of Applied Human Factors at Deep Blue, the event was a perfect opportunity to reconnect and collaborate. “Attending the SID is always a great opportunity to meet aviation friends and share updates on common projects and insights on new opportunities. Thanks to the amazing hospitality and organisation of ENAV, ADR, and LEONARDO. This year, Deep Blue also proudly contributed to supporting this event in the stunning framework of Rome” she remarked.

Throughout the four days, the conference buzzed with exchanges of knowledge and ideas, bringing together a diverse network of industry leaders, researchers, and service providers. As Stefano Bonelli, Head of Innovative Human Factors, noted: “It has been a wonderful occasion to meet and exchange knowledge and ideas with big players of European research, from service providers to researchers to industries, strengthening collaboration among current SESAR 3 projects and sharing insights on future ones”.
One of the event’s highlights was the presence of emerging researchers and their enthusiasm for innovation. “It’s always a great pleasure to reconnect with old friends and meet young, enthusiastic researchers at the SESAR Innovation Days” shared Damiano Taurino, Head of Drones and Advanced Air Mobility. “This year felt even more special, with Deep Blue co-sponsoring the event right here in our hometown, adding an extra layer of excitement and energy to the four days. The rich and insightful exchanges reaffirmed Deep Blue’s role as a valued research and consultancy partner within the European aviation community, including industries, other SMEs, research centres, and academia”.

The SESAR Innovation Days 2024 have once again proven to be a cornerstone for fostering dialogue and driving innovation in aviation. Deep Blue is honoured to have contributed to this effort and looks forward to continuing its work at the intersection of technology, safety, and human factors to shape a sustainable and innovative future for European aviation.
