From October 14th to 16th, over 130 European delegates will gather in Bologna to discuss innovation, security, and sustainability of the ATM system. Premium Sponsor: Deep Blue.
From 14 to 16 October 2025, Bologna will be the European capital of air traffic control, hosting the European Regional Meeting 2025 ( ERM 2025) organized by IFATCA – International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers’ Associations and ANACNA – National Association of Air Navigation Assistants and Controllers.
The event will bring together over 130 delegates from across Europe to discuss the challenges and prospects of the sector: from post-summer traffic management to technological innovations and high-altitude operations.
Frederic Deleau, Employee Value Proposition at IFATCA, said: “The IFATCA European Regional Meeting 2025 ( ERM 2025) is a key event for the European air traffic control community. In these challenging times, marked by conflict zones within or near our network and severe staff shortages in some regions, ERM 2025 offers a unique opportunity to reflect on developments in the sector and strengthen dialogue between professional associations, institutions, and the industry. IFATCA and its members not only seek solutions, but are also key enablers of the future ATM/ATC system in Europe. More than ever, IFATCA’s European motto—TOGETHER – FURTHER!—embodies the spirit of our professional commitment and the dedication of the women and men who uphold it every day.”
The program includes three days of work—one technical, one operational, and one institutional—as well as workshops and networking opportunities. The initiative will also offer exhibition spaces for partners and sponsors to present demos and innovative solutions.
Alessandra Cola , President of ANACNA, emphasized: “We are proud to host an event in Bologna that focuses on air traffic control professionals and the innovations that will underpin their future. ERM 2025 will also be a moment of growth for our national community, which will have the opportunity to engage with colleagues from across Europe.”
Among the main sponsors is Deep Blue , a Rome-based consultancy firm, the leading SME in Europe for research projects in the aviation sector, and a Premium Sponsor of ERM2025. Deep Blue will bring to the event tools to monitor and reduce the environmental impact of airports, increase runway safety, and facilitate coordination between controllers and drone operators.
Simone Pozzi, CEO of Deep Blue , added: “Deep Blue’s presence as a Premium Sponsor confirms our commitment to air traffic controllers and European institutions, promoting technological innovation centered on people’s needs and values. We will bring to Bologna concrete solutions that address the operational needs of the sector, enhance the human role, and use artificial intelligence to strengthen the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the ATM system. This is our idea of Human-AI Teaming.”
ERM 2025 will take place at the Royal Hotel Carlton in Bologna and will include opportunities for technical discussion, institutional sessions , and social evenings, cementing the city as a hub for innovation in the air transport sector.
